    Upon arrival, at Chennai Airport, drive along the scenic East Coast Road towards Mahabalipuram, one of the most beautiful coastal drives in South India overlooking the Bay of Bengal. Arrive in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Mahabalipuram, once an important port city of the Pallava dynasty. Begin exploring the magnificent Shore Temple, dramatically located beside the sea and considered one of South India’s oldest structural stone temples.

    Continue to the fascinating Five Rathas, monolithic temples carved from single granite rocks representing remarkable Dravidian architecture. Visit the impressive Arjuna’s Penance, one of the world’s largest open-air rock carvings depicting scenes from Hindu mythology.     After breakfast, drive to Kanchipuram, one of Hinduism’s seven sacred cities and historically known as the “City of Thousand Temples.” Once the capital of the Pallava Empire, Kanchipuram is famous for its grand temples and world-renowned silk sarees. Visit the magnificent Ekambareswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and famous for its towering gopuram and sacred mango tree believed to be over 3,500 years old.
