Rang Travels — explore the colors of India

Terms & conditions

How a journey is quoted, confirmed and run.

Written plainly, because nobody should need a lawyer to read them. The money terms for your own journey — deposit, balance, what a cancellation costs on a given date — are in the written confirmation we send you; this page is everything around them. Anything unclear, ask us before you book: info@rangtravels.com.

Who you are dealing with

These terms apply to journeys arranged by Rang Travels, Shop No 12 A, Upper Ground Floor, Ansal Majestic Tower, Vikas Puri, New Delhi 110018, India, trading since 2018 and a member of the Indian Association of Tour Operators. In everything below, "we" is Rang Travels and "you" is the person who makes the booking, on behalf of everyone travelling with them.

Enquiries, quotations and confirmation

An enquiry costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We reply with an itinerary written out day by day, naming the hotels and itemising the price.

A quotation holds for the dates and the hotels named in it. Hotel rates in India move with the season, and rooms at festival dates are held only briefly, so a quotation is confirmed when we write to say the hotels are booked — and it is that written confirmation, with its payment and cancellation terms, that governs your journey.

Prices

Every journey on this site is quoted on request rather than sold at a fixed price, because what it costs depends on your dates, your hotels and how you like to travel. The quotation says exactly what is included and what is not.

Where a price is quoted in a currency other than the Indian rupee, it is converted on the day of quotation and may be restated if exchange rates move materially before confirmation.

Payments

No payment is taken on this website. Payment is made against the instructions on your confirmation and invoice, which state the deposit, the balance and the dates they fall due.

If anyone asks you to pay into an account that does not appear on an invoice from us, stop and telephone the office on one of the numbers on this site before sending anything.

Changes and cancellations

Tell us as early as you can. The cancellation and amendment terms for your journey are the ones set out in your written confirmation; they follow what the hotels, airlines and permit offices charge us, and those charges rise as the date approaches.

We may have to change an itinerary — a road closed by snow or landslide, a permit refused, a flight rescheduled, a festival date moved by the lunar calendar. Where that happens we arrange the nearest equivalent and tell you what has changed and what it costs or saves.

Passports, visas, permits and health

You are responsible for holding a passport valid well beyond your return date, the correct Indian visa, and any vaccinations your doctor advises. We will tell you which inner-line or protected-area permits a journey needs — Ladakh, Nagaland, parts of Arunachal — and we arrange them, but they are issued at the discretion of the authorities.

Several journeys on this site cross high passes above 5,000 metres. They are planned with acclimatisation days for that reason. If you have a heart or lung condition, or are pregnant, take medical advice before booking one.

Insurance

Travel insurance is not included and is not optional in any real sense: take a policy that covers medical treatment, evacuation from remote areas, cancellation and your baggage. For the Himalayan journeys, check that it covers the altitudes you will reach.

Behaviour, and the places you visit

Many of the places in these itineraries are living temples, monasteries, gurudwaras and family homes. Guides will tell you where photography is not welcome and where shoes come off; please follow them. We reserve the right to end a journey, without refund, for conduct that puts other travellers or our staff at risk.

Suppliers, and the limits of what we can promise

We select and supervise hotels, drivers, guides, airlines and railways, but we do not own them. Where a supplier fails, we put it right as far as we can on the ground and take it up with them afterwards.

We are not liable for delay or loss caused by events outside our control — weather, strikes, road closures, flight cancellations, official action or civil disturbance. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Indian law.

Photographs and words on this site

The photographs, films, itineraries and text on this site belong to Rang Travels or are licensed to it, and may not be copied or republished without permission. Reviews are reproduced word for word from Google and TripAdvisor, with the traveller's name as it appears there.

Complaints

If something is wrong, tell your tour manager or telephone the office while you are still in India, when it can usually be fixed the same day. If it cannot, write to us within 28 days of returning and we will answer in writing.

Law

These terms, and any journey arranged under them, are governed by the law of India, and the courts at New Delhi have jurisdiction.
